Trial and Error

So here is the work in its preliminary stages of Nigel's new style. This image is really quite large especially compared to the usual size that Nigel works in.

At the moment he is just building up a foundational layer to play with ideas, cut and change etc etc. then Nig plans to layer with acrilic and encaustic. Certainly a different medium from the usual pencils of different varieties.

He also has another one on the go, it's a smaller piece that he is working on for a prize at the beginging of next year. I would provide an 'in-progress' shot of that one as well but the battery on Nig's new camera just ran out!

So updates will have to follow next week.

Hewart Duo

So here we are the father and daughter art duo. Nigel Hewitt with his rather fabulous artistic skill and Mollie Hewitt as the assistant and writer :-)

Here is the plan. As Nigel's promoter I intend to blog and update the world on the happenings the hewart studio until the website is up and running. I'll be looking at progress of images, adding photos and such weekly. Also updating on exhibitions, prizes and some influences on the way.

Firstly I must state that blogging is a new thing for me and certainly for Dad as well so this might take a bit of practice. We shall see how we go. Updates hopefully will be weekly but we'll see how we go.
